Kisumu School will host the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) Nyanza Region Term One games from March 19 to 23.

The games will feature hockey, basketball, rugby 15s, swimming, and athletics.

Swimming will be held on March 16 at Aga Khan in Kisumu while Machakos Secondary Schools (boys and girls) will host the nationals from April 6-14.

Nyanza Region Secondary Schools Sports Association secretary Tom Odhiambo, however, said the calendar is tentative. “We don’t expect a lot of changes. Schools should intensify preparations,” said Odhiambo.

According to the calendar, all sub-counties should hold their championships by February 23 and counties by March 9.

Kisii School declared their intention to retain their rugby 15’s title but they will face stiff competition from powerhouses Maseno School, St Mary’s Yala, and upcoming Anjego Mixed which is under the tutelage of veteran J.J Masime.

Maseno School and Nyamira Girls will seek to retain their hockey titles. Nyamira Girls are the national and East Africa champions.

Multiple regional winners and former East Africa champions Kisumu Day are keen to reclaim the title that they lost to Maseno last year.
