KCB Rugby head coach Andrew Amonde has set focus on Kabeberi Sevens, the last leg National Sevens Circuit to be played at the RFUEA grounds this weekend.

After finishing fifth with 13 points at the Tisap Sevens in Eldoret over the weekend, the former Shujaa captain said their aim is to reach the final in Nairobi.

“We hope that the team will perform well at the Kabeberi Sevens to bag the title. It will be a big plus for the boys," said Amonde.

He observed that by beating Kabras in the Tisap fifth-place playoff, his players expressed themselves very well and it was just unfortunate that they were not able to reach the finals.

KCB are currently depending on some of their inexperienced players with their top stars away with Shujaa, who are preparing for the Africa Olympic qualifiers set for Zimbabwe mid this month.

“It was a great opportunity for these young players to come here and play," he said, adding: “The caliber of players we missed today shows a lot in how we played."
