Jerome Paarwater returns for a second stint as the head coach of the Kenya men’s fifteens national team, The Simbas.
Paarwater, who was the Simbas gaffer between 2013 and 2017, will be assisted by Carlos Katywa and Curtis Olago, who are head coaches at Kabras and KCB respectively.
Other members of the Simbas management staff include Richard Ochieng, Steve Mankone and James Ondiege.
The South African tactician is currently contracted to Western Province in Cape Town South Africa.
Paarwater led Kenya to its highest-ever ranking at position 22 in the World rugby rankings in 2016, as well as winning the Africa Cup trophy in 2013 and claiming the scalps of heavyweights Namibia and Zimbabwe.
The new technical bench will take charge of the Simbas trials on Saturday and Sunday at the RFUEA ground.
Over 100 players drawn from champions Kabras, KCB, Menengai Oilers, Quins, Strathmore, Mwamba amongst others will be selected for the Kenya team which will do duty in the Currie Cup next month in South Africa.
The technical bench will have only a fortnight to select a squad with the Currie Cup opener for the Simbas slated to be played on April 1 or 8 once the organisers have not released the fixtures.
The national team will face a stern test in the three-month competition against South African sides like Leopards, Valke, Boland Cavaliers, Eastern Province, Border Bulldogs and Goshwaks of Zimbabwe.
