Odhiambo wins KPA tourney in Kisumu

Odhiambo garnered 41 points playing off a handicap of 25 emerging KPA Golfer of the Tournament.

•Siaya Senator Oburu Oginga (Nyanza) and Bricksen Amusala (Kakamega Golf Club) emerged best senior and best junior with 24 points and 34 points respectively.

•The tournament attracted 150 golfers from various clubs in Nyanza and Western circuit was played at the Nyanza Golf Club on Saturday.

Home player David Odhiambo was crowned the overall winner of the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) corporate golf tournament at Nyanza Golf Club.

Handicap 25 Odhiambo struck 41 points. Siaya Senator Oburu Oginga (Nyanza) and Bricksen Amusala (Kakamega Golf Club) emerged as the best senior and best junior players with 24 and 34 points respectively.

Bhupen Shah of Nyanza Golf Club was the men's winner with 37 points, beating Ameet Shah on countback.

Cornila Obare, also of Nyanza, was the lady winner with 40 points while Benjamin Koyier of Royal Club was the guest winner with 35 points.

The tournament attracted 150 golfers from various clubs in Nyanza and Western.

KPA managing director Captain William Ruto said: “Golf, with its foundational values of integrity, respect, care for community and perseverance, resonates deeply with KPA’s core values.”
