The par-72 Kakamega golf course is expected to host a record field of 150 players on May 27 during the fifth leg of the 2023 KCB East Africa Golf Tour.

The event set to kickoff at 6:30am will feature members of the Kakamega Golf Club and guest players from around the country.

The players will be battling to join winning teams from Vetlab, Eldoret, Limuru and Railways Golf Clubs, to play in the tour's grand finale scheduled for November at the Karen Country Club.

Kakamega Golf Club Captain James Anzabwa, said that they are looking forward to an exciting day during the event.

"We are honoured to host the fifth leg this Saturday. The event has drawn a lot of interest from golf enthusiasts," James said.

He also adds that the rains received in the last couple of weeks have left the course in a greater shape and this will make the action more competitive and entertaining.

On Sunday, two golf clinics will be hosted at the same venue, targeting ladies and junior golfers aiming to adding the list of participants to the 300 reached in four opening legs.

Rosalind Gichuru, the KCB Group Director Marketing and Communication, is excited after the first four legs were successful and is looking forward to crowning the next set of winners in Western Kenya.
