Pandit claims NCBA golf series overall win at Windsor

He managed an impressive score of 79 gross, earning a slot in the grand finale.

The 2023 NCBA golf series came to a thrilling conclusion April 22 at the Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club with over 150 golfers braving the cold weather to compete for slots to play at the Series’ Grand Finale later this year.

In a highly competitive field, Abhishek Pandit emerged as the overall gross winner with an impressive score of 79 gross, earning a slot in the grand finale.

Avnish Bhandari took home the men's category title with 80 gross points on count back, with Gary Zeller as the men's category runner-up, also with 80 gross points.

Phillus Kimbo emerged as the women's winner with 85 gross, with Rahab Karoki as the women's category runner-up with 99 gross. Meanwhile, Nathan Kania was the Juniors category winner with 104 gross.

In the Nines challenge, Sam Koda emerged as the star in the first nine with 41 gross while Alishan Merali was the back nine winner with 40 gross.

Meanwhile, Akshay Chandaria emerged as the men's longest drive challenge winner. Rahab Karoki won in the women's category.

Aly Popat was  the Nearest-to-the-pin challenge winner. Arnold Kipkoti won the staff category with 95 gross.

NCBA Group Managing Director John Gachora said: “The NCBA golf series is a platform for golfers to showcase their talent. We are proud to support the growth and development of the sport in Kenya in a bid to unearth more talent.”

The series features 16 qualifier events held across the East African region and a juniors tournament that will  be held at Nyali Golf Club.

The series heads to Thika Sports Club on May 27 for the fifth leg.
