Kuria stars in U.S kids golf tourney as action heads to Sigona

• In the 13-14-year-old category, Imani Njoki won with 99 strokes, followed by Navya Nagda and Hena Shah.

Hazel Kuria capped a good performance in the U.S kids golf tournament by winning the girls' 15-18-year-old category trophy at the 18-hole Windsor Golf Hotel & Country Club on April 2 with 87 strokes.

Antonia Mbuthia and Cherise Wachira were second and third respectively as the fourth leg of the series concluded over the weekend.  The tour heads to Sigona Golf Club on April 11.

In the 13-14-year-old category, Imani Njoki won with 99 strokes, followed by Navya Nagda and Hena Shah.

Marya Nyambura won the 11-12-year-old category with 89 strokes, followed by Malaika Kasio and Brianna Ngecu.

In the nine-hole  junior girls’ categor,  Aria Dodhia won the 9 -10-year-old category with 41 strokes while Aarna Mengi won the eight-year-old and under category with 40 strokes.

Shashwat Harish took first place with 77 strokes, followed by Parv Kavia and Tsevi Soni in second and third places respectively in the boys' 13-14-year old category.

Mwathi Gicheru won the 12-year-old category with 76 strokes, Aidan Gachora came second and Andrew Gathere settled for third position.

In the 11-year-old category, Amar Shah was the champion with 73 strokes, followed by Kahir Ladak and Alpha Ndungu Njenga.

The event featured 144  junior golfers aged between 5 and 18 years old, showcasing their skills and competing against their peers in age-appropriate categories.

The tournament was jointly organized by the U.S. Kids Golf and the Junior Golf Foundation Kenya and supported by NCBA Bank as part of its commitment to supporting junior golf development in the region.
