SportPesa Premier League side Nairobi United have strengthened their technical bench after the appointment of Osborne Monday as assistant coach ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Monday joins the club from Shabana FC, ending his second stint with the Glamour Boys after serving as interim coach for three months following the expiry of his short-term contract earlier this month.
The former Kenyan international arrives with experience from both the technical and analytical sides of the game. He previously worked as an analyst at Shabana before moving to Murang’a Seal as head coach, where he earned praise for implementing an attractive brand of football that enhanced his reputation in local coaching circles.
In a statement, Nairobi United described Monday as a key addition to a revamped technical bench as the club prepares for a new chapter.
“Known for his tactical nous and reading of the game, the former Murang’a Seal and Shabana FC head coach will be part of a new era at Naibois as they seek to make history next season,” the club said.
Monday will work under newly appointed head coach Patrick Aussems, the former AFC Leopards and Simba SC tactician who has already signed a long-term contract and is expected in the country later this month.
The Belgian replaces Godfrey Oduor ‘Solo’, who departed at the end of the 2025/26 campaign. Solo had joined the Johnson Sakaja Foundation-owned club in January after previously coaching Harambee Starlets.
Nairobi United are expected to make further changes to their technical setup and playing squad following what the club described as a promising debut season in the top flight.
The club represented Kenya in the CAF Confederation Cup but exited at the group stage and is now focused on strengthening ahead of the new campaign. Defender Wycliffe Omondi, popularly known as Awiko, has already joined from Shabana FC.
Meanwhile, more signings are expected as Nairobi United seek to build a squad capable of competing for domestic honours and making a deeper impact on the continental stage.
