In football, where aspirations are often as fleeting as the final whistle, the journey of a player can be both exhilarating and tumultuous.

The move from Kakamega Homeboyz to one of Zambia's most illustrious football clubs, Power Dynamos, reflects not only a new chapter in Moses Shumah's career but also a major turning point in his quest for greatness.

Having clinched the Kenyan Premier League Golden Boot with an impressive 17 goals, Shumah's excitement is palpable as he embarks on this professional journey, ready to leave an indelible mark on the Zambian Premier League (ZPL) and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League.

Shumah's departure from Kakamega Homeboyz, a club where he flourished and gained recognition, was not one made lightly.

"I will certainly miss Homeboyz. I've enjoyed my stay at the club and I had a very good relationship with everyone there, including the owner Cleophas Shimanyula, who treated me very well," he reminisced, underscoring the emotional tie he had forged with the club.

Yet, the allure of a professional contract with Power Dynamos, a club that boasts a rich history and a passionate fanbase, was an opportunity Shumah could not afford to overlook.

"Such opportunities only come once in a lifetime and there is no way I would have turned a blind eye to the lush deal. I'm looking forward to a brilliant season with Dynamos," he said.

Power Dynamos, with their ambitions to reclaim past glories, see Shumah as a pivotal addition to their attacking arsenal.

His ability to find the back of the net, showcased by his Golden Boot-winning performance, is expected to bolster a team eager to make an impression in both local and continental competitions.

Shumah's skill will be crucial as the team tries to overcome the obstacles that lie ahead in the fiercely competitive Zambian Premier League.

"We welcome Moses. He joins Power Dynamos from Kenya's Kakamega Homeboyz FC on a two-year permanent deal," club CEO Gibson Chaloba said.

“We extend our deepest gratitude to the departing players. Their service and contribution to the club, especially in ensuring last season’s success, will always be appreciated,” he added.

Chaloba expressed his excitement about the new players and their possible influence at Arthur Davies Stadium.

The club's recruitment strategy this season has not only focused on strengthening its attack with Shumah but also on fortifying its defence and midfield.

The signing of Samuel Ayodeji Bamidele, a central defender from Nigeria, is a testament to the club's commitment to building a well-rounded squad.

As Power Dynamos gears up for the 2025/26 season, the anticipation surrounding Shumah's debut is palpable.

Shumah is expected to travel with the club to Johannesburg, South Africa, for a pre-season training camp.

This training camp will not only serve as a platform for team bonding but also as an opportunity for the coaching staff to implement their strategies and ensure that the new signings integrate seamlessly into the squad.
