Kibera Black Stars will on Sunday host National Super League leaders Nairobi United as the battle for Kenyan Premier League promotion hots up.

Kibera, coached by Edwin Lavasta, are fourth on the log with 47 points 12 behind United.

Administration Police Service (APS) Bomet are second with 52 points and Naivas third after garnering 49 points.

Lavasta’s charges remain in the hunt for a promotion/relegation slot and will be keen for a positive result in the game that will be played at Jamhuri playground in Nairobi.

APS Bomet will seek to get their campaign back on track when they battle it out with Samwest Blackboots. Last weekend, APS Bomet suffered a 1-0 loss to Migori Youth at Marist University Grounds in Ngong.

At Moi Stadium in Kisumu, financially struggling Kisumu All Stars, coached by Charles Warinda, will host Nzoia Sugar. Kisumu All Stars had a morale boosting 1-0 win over Mombasa United on Wednesday in Mombasa while Nzoia edged Muhoroni Youth 2-0 on Thursday.

Elsewhere, Paul Ogai’s Darajani Gogo entertain bottom of the table SS Assad while Vihiga United invite Mombasa United to Jomo Kenyatta grounds in Kisumu.

Struggling Muhoroni Youth will be at home to Fortune Sacco while Mully Children’s Family (MCF) face off with the Michael Olunga Foundation Academy (MOFA) at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

On Wednesday, MOFA suffered a 4-0 drubbing to Darajani Gogo.

Despite being 10th on the log, MCF coach Vincent Nyaberi believes his side remains in the hunt for a playoff slot.

“If we continue with our current form, I’m optimistic we shall earn a playoff slot. We also pray the teams on top of us falter,” added Nyaberi.

Nyaberi also announced they will play their home matches at their stadium in Yatta, Machakos County.
