I look at where he is coming from, his background, what he has achieved and analyse the current administration and what they have done so far, and what they are likely to do. I think Kalonzo has a very big chance of winning.
Look at the many policies of Kenya Kwanza. Almost all have failed. That creates an option for a credible candidate, like Kalonzo.
There is a lot of despair in our country, people have lost hope.
The high taxation means so many companies cannot sustain wealth creation and create jobs. It also means people have choices of moving out and closing down businesses. That only increases levels of poverty.
During the Gen Z protests, they [Kenya Kwanza] never talked about corruption, even how resources are being allocated. Currently, devolution, which was the only hope for the country, is declining under Kenya Kwanza administration.
Many of their acts are driving Kenyans away.
When you look at Kalonzo as a person, this is a person who has a lot of experience in public administration, having deputised President Kibaki, who did a lot to transform Kenya.
From where Kibaki left, the only person who can move this country forward, start the transformation journey and restore hope is none other than Kalonzo.
Kibaki succeeded because he had a deputy who knew what Kenyans wanted.
When it comes to decision-making, a no for Kalonzo does not at any given time become a yes. Even in the recent youth-led demonstrations, he was very firm and stood with Gen Z.
It is very hard to find somebody like Kalonzo, without allegations of corruption. Many of our top leaders have assets worth billions of shillings on their names and proxies. That is not the Kalonzo we all know.
Kalonzo should lead like-minded Kenyans into restoring hope in the country.
He should challenge Kenya Kwanza's policies and give alternatives to Kenyans.
Kalonzo should also articulate issues of foreign policy of this country. Kenya is isolated even at the regional level and that is why we are making statements and recanting them.
