A governor from a county in Nyanza is a troubled man. In fact, there is nothing moving in the devolved unit after his administration ran into financial trouble. The administration is allegedly under huge debt after borrowing heavily from financial institutions over the last months. With salaries for staff delayed for three months, the county boss is nowhere to be seen. His last stop at the county offices was way back in March when he passed by for about half an hour. The leader has gone ahead to open his own private offices in Karen as he schemes ahead of the 2027 polls. He is said to have fallen out with the powers that be in the opposition over his big ambitions. He is said to have recently clashed with a key opposition figure over some sensitive plans regarding the opposition's strategy for the 2027 polls. The politician is now wooing some workers attached to the big coalition to join his camp as he assembles his political machine.

Things are falling apart at the secretariat of a political party with the daggers drawn between top officials. It is understood that there is a fresh push to have a top official kicked out in the coming months even before the polls slated for later in the year. On Friday, the official's office was reportedly locked and locks changed. There are reports that the official is now an unwanted guest to the secretariat. Tellingly, the official's car had been recalled by the executive director last week allegedly for repairs. The official has also been removed from all the WhatsApp groups associated with the party's top leadership.
