Kenya is among the six African nations vying for the remaining three places for the 2024 U-17 Women's World Cup in the Dominican Republic.

Burundi booked their place with a 24-0 aggregate demolition of Djibouti while Kenya saw off Ethiopia 3-0 in the second leg after a goalless first encounter.

According to Caf Women's Football News, Starlets will face Burundi in the fourth and final qualifier in June as they seek to make history as the first Kenyan team to play in a Fifa World Cup.

Junior Starlets tactician Mildred Cheche acknowledged Burundi's threat. “Burundi is a formidable side. We’ve faced them before and they came out on top,” the coach said.

The schedule for the Final Round of U-17 Women's World Cup Qualifiers will see Kenya play Burundi in the first leg on  June 7, 2024.

"Those two nations will now face off over two legs with the first match taking place on June 7," said Caf Women's Football News. The second leg is set a week later on  June 14, 2024.

"The three victorious nations from this final qualifying phase will book their spots at the U-17 Women's World Cup in the Dominican Republic," Caf Women's Football News further revealed.

The Kenyans attributed last weekend's 3-0 victory over Ethiopia in the third leg of the U-17 World Cup qualifiers at Ulinzi Sports Complex to an offensive mindset.

This win propelled Kenya closer to the U-17 World Cup set for October 16 to November 3 in the Dominican Republic. Coach Cheche credited the team’s aggressive approach for their dominant performance.

“We took the game to them right from the start. They expected us to sit back like we did in the first leg but our offensive strategy paid off,” Cheche was quoted as saying.
