Domongole, Chebet win Iten 15km Road race

Winners received Sh250,000 while second and third placed atheletes took home Sh150,000 and Sh100,000 respectively.

Fredrick Domongole clocked 45 minutes 16 seconds to win the Betika Iten 15km Road Race on Sunday.

He beat Erick Kiplangat to second position  (45:17 minutes), who was closely followed by John Lomoni in third place in 45:28 minutes.

Naomy Chebet won the women’s race after being timed at 51:01 minutes with Sheila Cherotich (51:24) second and Abigael Chepkoech ( 51:49) third.

Reflecting on their achievements, top male and female runners shared their thoughts: “Winning the Betika Iten 15km Road Race is a dream come true. Iten has a special place in the hearts of athletes, and I am honoured to have triumphed in such a prestigious event.”

Winners received Sh250,000 while second and third-placed athletes took home Sh150,000 and Sh100,000 respectively. Those who occupied fourth and 10th received between 50,000 and Sh20,000.
