AFC Leopards coach Thomas Trucha has expressed appreciation to the clubs' fans for their support during their 'Ingo Derby' match against Kakamega Homeboyz at the Bukhungu stadium on Saturday.
The match which ended in a barren draw for Ingwe stretched their unbeaten run in the FKF Premier League to eight games.
Speaking on AFC’s X account, Trucha acknowledged the fans' support adding that most of them had travelled from far away just to come and support the team.
"The 'Ingo Derby winners are AFC Leopards fans. I met a few of you on my way back to Nairobi. Huge respect to all of you guys traveling hundreds of kilometers to give us support," he noted.
Ingwe currently sit eighth in the league table with 31 points just two points from rivals Homeboyz who are seventh with 33 points.
The coach cited the support base as the best in the country for their unwavering support.
"I would like to thank you very much for filling Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega. You also gave a wonderful show off the field. No doubt you are the best fans in Kenya," he stated.
Ingwe take on Nzoia Sugar in round 22 of the KPL on March 3 at the Nyayo National Stadium.
Nzoia Sugar are currently battling relegation as they sit bottom of the log with just 16 points after managing just four wins.
