Equatorial Guinea coach, Juan Micha has said his side will approach their Africa Cup of Nations clash against Cote d'Ivoire more calmly.

The two sides clash in a high-stake encounter last game in Group A at the Stade Olympique Alassane Ouattara Stadium, Abidjan, Ivory Coast on Monday.

Despite their opening day 2-0 victory over Guinea Bissau, the 1-0 loss against Nigeria dented the Cote d'Ivoire's hopes of sailing to the next round and only a win on Monday will guarantee them progress.

Both Equatorial Guinea and Nigeria are on four points and separated by goal difference. Nigeria are fevourites to beat Guinea Bissau who have managed a solitary point.

The Equatorial Guinea coach says the pressure is on the hosts to get a result in what could turn out to be a mind game and put the Elephants further under immense pressure.

Speaking ahead of the highly-anticipated clash, Micha said they would surprise Cote d'Ivoire if they opened up.

“It will be a very difficult match for both teams but more especially for Cote d’Ivoire because they are under pressure to win. We will calmly approach the match," Micha said.

"We will not wait. We know that they will come at us and open up which will allow us to surprise them at their stadium. We know that they are under pressure and not us,” he declared in a pre-match press conference.

Elsewhere, Guinea Bissau have promised to upset Nigeria if the words from their coach Baciro Conde are anything to go by.

Guinea Bissau will be having their 1-0 win over the Super Eagles in Abuja for the qualifiers at the back of their minds.

“Indeed we are going to base ourselves on this match. We have analysed the game of the Super Eagles well, and we hope to make a success of our exit in the absence of having had a good tournament,” Conde said.
