The stage is set for the semifinals of the Talanta Hela Under-19 national football tournament that will be held on Sunday across two football venues in Nairobi.

In the boys' encounter, Homabay will lock horns with Nakuru at the Utalii Sports Club in the afternoon.

Homabay punched a ticket to the penultimate stage of the competition with an emphatic 5-2 win over Mombasa at Nyayo Stadium on Friday.

Nakuru ran over Nyamira 3-1 in one of the quarterfinals at Nyayo Stadium on Friday to make their intentions of clinching the title clear.

Vihiga County have a scintillating tie against pre-tournament favourites Kisumu at Nyayo Stadium in the other semifinal encounter.

Vihiga were fortunate enough to scrape through the quarterfinals after edging out West Pokot 5-4 on post-match penalties following a four-all draw in regulation time at Nyayo stadium on Thursday.

In the girls' semifinals, Busia will renew its rivalry with Homabay at Nyayo Stadium. Busia were in a class of their own, thrashing a hapless Nairobi team in the quarterfinals staged on Thursday.

Homabay beat Machakos 5-4 to book a berth in the semifinals. The finals which will be graced by President William Ruto, will be held at Nyayo Stadium on Jamhuri Day.
