Kenya's Under 18 boys' national team, Junior Stars, have booked a ticket to the Cecafa regional football tournament semifinals after pipping Rwanda 1-0 to top group A.

Aldrine Kibet's 37th-minute rasping shot was all coach Salim Babu's charges needed to seal their second consecutive win at the Jomo Kenyatta stadium in Kisumu on Tuesday.

Junior Stars set their season in motion with a scintillating display of football finesse that saw them thrash Sudan 5-0 in their opening Group A encounter on Saturday.

Elly Owade had a perfect chance to fire Kenya into the lead earlier in the game after sending goalkeeper Yvan Ruhamyanyiko into a full-stretch save barely eight minutes from the off.

Tuesday's outcome leaves Junior Stara at the summit of Group A with six points. They will meet Somalia in their final encounter on Saturday.
