Sofapaka head coach Ezekiel Akwana has called for patience as he strives to assemble a formidable squad that can register consistent results in the cutthroat topflight competition.

Akwana will be hoping to bounce back from their humiliating 3-0 thumping by Talanta at Machakos Stadium last weekend when he leads an onslaught against Kakamega Homeboyz at Bukhungu Stadium on Friday.

The gaffer, who will be presiding over his fourth match since his appointment last month, extolled his players for adapting fast enough to his coaching philosophy, adding that their loss to Talanta was not a true reflection of their current form.

"Losing is part of football and any serious football coach or player expects to post negative results at one point in time. So our defeat to Talanta in our last match should not be used to cast aspersions on our form," Akwana remarked.

"We have registered a decent performance since I took charge of the team. We won, lost, and won again and this is a fair run that we can confidently build upon heading to our next fixtures," he stated.

"The defeat was a good lesson for us because it made us appreciate our weaknesses. We took a lot of time in practice this week rectifying the loopholes that exposed us to our opponents in Machakos last weekend and I'm convinced the boys will post an improved performance in Kakamega," Akwana said.

In another scintillating Kenyan Premier League encounter, Police FC will flex muscles with Ulinzi Stars at the Police Sacco Stadium in Nairobi on Friday. Talanta FC heads into their encounter against Muhoroni Youth at Ruaraka grounds high on confidence after demolishing Sofapaka 3-0 last weekend.

Champions Gor Mahia have a tough clash against high-flying newbies Murang'a Seal at Moi Stadium, Kasarani on Saturday in a top-of-the-table clash.

The two sides are level on 20 points but K'Ogalo is placed second on the log ahead of Seal owing to a healthier goal difference.

At the Ulinzi Complex in Nairobi, league leaders Posta Rangers will lock horns with 13-time champions AFC Leopards who have displayed an underwhelming performance this season.

KCB face Bidco United at the Police Sacco stadium as Tusker battle Nairobi City Stars at Ruaraka grounds on Saturday.

Trouble-ridden Shabana will be looking for an escape route from the red zone when they tackle Nzoia Sugar at Raila Odinga Stadium in Homabay. Kariobangi Sharks host coastal lads Bandari at the Utalii grounds on Saturday.
