Former Kajiado Governor David Ole Nkedianye has become the latest politician to land state a job in President William Ruto's government.
In a Gazette Notice dated June 2, Ruto has picked Nkedianye as the chairperson of the Wildlife Research and Training Institute.
His three year-term takes effect from May 31.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 53 (1) (a) of the Wildlife Conservation and Management Act, I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, appoint David Ole Nkedianye to be the Chairperson of the Wildlife Research and Training Institute, for three (3) years, with effect from May 31, 2023,” the notice reads.
Ruto has also appointed former Gilgil MP Samuel Nderitu as the chair of the Central Rift valley water works development authority.
The appointments of Boniface Kamanga Muhia, Julius Kamau Muthanwa and Cynthia Jerotich Kipchillat have been revoked.
Letulal Ole Masikonde and Daniel Tuitoek have been named to replace the duo.
The appointment of Nderitu will last until April 8, 2024.
Masikonde is a former Narok MCA.
In other appointments, former Lake Basin Development Authority board chairman Odoyo Owidi has been named the new chairperson of the Lake Victoria South Water Works Development Agency.
His three-year appointment by Water Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome will last three years.
In the same Gazette, Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu has appointed Kennedy Ole Kerei as the chairperson of the Maasai Mara University Council and Agnes Busienei as a member.
Meanwhile, Chief Justice Martha Koome has announced the establishment of an Employment and Labour Relations Court at the Kakamega Law Courts.
