Nyamunyamu: We won't go against FKF despite Gaspo's latest move

We are all aware that Gaspo had pulled out of the match. I have no further information with regards to their latest decision-Nyamunyamu.

Vihiga Queens coach Boniface Nyamunyamu has said they will follow the Kenya Football Federation's directive to play in the exhibition match against Kibera Soccer Ladies on May 27 ahead of their title crown.

The five-time Kenya Women's Premier League champions were expected to play Gaspo Women in the last match of the season at the Gems Cambridge on the same day.

Gaspo, on Wednesday,threatened to dish out a walkover against Vihiga, saying the decision had come to be considered due to a number of reasons according to information on the team's social media pages.

On Friday, The Kiambu County team reversed their decision, claiming that they are ready for the tie: "After consultations, we have decided to honour the match against Vihiga. Apologies to the fans, supporters and stakeholders of Gaspo Women football club for all the inconveniences caused."

Nyamunyamu, in a terse response, said the communication from the FKF was binding. The match against Kibera will take place at the Police Sacco Stadium.

"The federation communicated to us that we will entertain Kibera in an exhibition match after which the team will be awarded the WPL title. We won't go against what the federation has said since it is the organisation mandated with the running of football in the country," Nyamunyamu said.
