City's Ojiambo hopes for a superb finish after a poor first leg

As the league hits the home straight, Simba Wa Nairobi face seventh-placed AFC Leopards on Saturday.

Nairobi City Stars midfielder Elvis Noor Ojiambo says there is nothing to write home about in the team’s first-leg performance in the FKF Kenya Premier League.

However, Ojiambo noted that with an improved second leg, he is optimistic the finish will be much better.

Reflecting on City Stars’ season so far, Ojiambo said: “My season has had ups and downs but I won’t complain because that is the nature of football. We have worked much better as a team to achieve better results compared to the first leg where we were a little shaky.”

He added: “Even then, the results we are posting are not exactly what we wanted, but we are giving our all. We hope to perform much better in the remaining fixtures.”

He has featured in 23 of the 30 league games played this season, clocking 1,269 minutes which is a great step up from the 14 of 33 games and 635 minutes earned last season.

As the league hits the home straight, Simba Wa Nairobi face seventh-placed AFC Leopards on Saturday. City Stars sit 15th on the log with 30 points from 30 games. To date, they have won seven games, drawn nine and lost 14 so far.
