Kisumu All-Starlets are eager to upset the formbook and challenge for the Women's Premier League football title after putting their house in order during the preseason.

Kisumu have kept their last season's squad intact but have made quality additions in all departments-leaving coach Saidi Juma convinced that this could be their season to shine.

Sharon Atieno is expected to provide the much-needed defensive steel that has been missing previously as Kisumu narrowly avoided relegation. A late resurgence that saw the team win their last three matches allowed them to maintain their top-flight status.

"Going by our preparations, I can confidently say this could be a season like no other for us. Players can't wait to get started. We trained as a group for the first time and polished our weaknesses. We just need to pick up from where we left last season,"  Juma said.

He added: "I have a good team that is a blend of youth and experience. We just need to bring the best out of them even if it means pushing them to their limits. There will be nothing to fear this season. It is not a pipe dream to go for the title but we need to be competitive first."

Vihiga Queens have won four of the last five league titles with Thika Queens glorious once in 2021.
