EPL ENTER THIRD ROUND

I expect City and Arsenal to keep soaring as United try to find their footing

As usual, Manchester City are setting the pace with Arsenal cloning the same but the question is; for how long?

In Summary

•While they chase City at the top, Manchester United are dangling in position 20 and have found the back of the net only once this season. So who is going to star on Match-Day Three?

•Tottenham survived by the skin of their teeth against Chelsea on Sunday.

Two games down, 36 remaining for each of the 20 teams in the English Premier League table. As usual, Manchester City are setting the pace with Arsenal cloning the same but the question is; for how long?

A friend of mine last weekend told me that this is ‘Arsenal’s year!’ Maybe I should oblige because the Gunners have been immense from pre-season.

This is not the Arsenal we are used to and they are really giving their fans hope.

While they chase City at the top, Manchester United are dangling in position 20 and have found the back of the net only once this season. So who is going to star on Match-Day Three?

Remember Tottenham survived by the skin of their teeth against Chelsea on Sunday.

Tottenham versus Wolverhampton Wanderers (Saturday 14:30pm)

My prediction: Spurs.... 3 Wolves....1

Antonio Conte and Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel almost tore at each other after the dramatic 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge. This is a game Spurs had lost for sure were it not for the ‘aid’ of the referee. Spurs host a Wolverhampton side that has already tasted defeat this season and on paper, this looks easy for them but is it?

In February, Spurs lost 2-0 at home to Wolves and this might have been the script used by Conte as he aims to pick maximum points and briefly lead the league table. Wolves are not as strong as they were by the way and this should be maximum picks for the home side.

AFC Bournemouth versus Arsenal

My prediction: Cherries... 1  Gunners... 4

The Gunners make a trip to the Vitality Stadium, a ground they have not tasted defeat for three seasons. The hosts have already registered a win this season and they might just fancy their chances against Mikel Arteta’s side that is oozing in confidence. Expect goals in this game and of course entertainment. Gabriel Jesus is currently playing like a person who is possessed. His energy and movement is something the Gunners had been missing and I expect him to make a good account of himself this Saturday.

Man United versus Liverpool (Monday)

My prediction: Devils....1 Reds.....2

If you want drama, then this is the game to look forward to. The two teams are currently undergoing a rough patch and Monday will be a day when one of them makes or breaks the season.

In the last three seasons, it has been a walk in the park for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool. A 5-0 thrashing of their North West neighbours at Old Trafford and yet another 4-0 win at Anfield showed who is boss in that part of England. Well, they say history plays a part in huge games like this one but clearly, this fixture is not that easy for Liverpool.

Already rocked with injuries to key players, poor form and uncertainty amongst some members of the playing unit, Manchester United can smell blood; but, Liverpool always does things the hard way. Remember when they came from 3-0 down to beat Barcelona 4-0 in the return leg, beware United!

Manchester United have been linked with moves to every available player but does it help the situation?

Ronaldo is sulky, Rashford is thinking about life in Paris, Maguire will always commit a mistake, and did I forget David De Gea?

Have a sporty weekend won’t you?
