Kenya Power received a subsidy of Sh7.05 billion to lower consumer electricity bills in 2021.

President Uhuru Kenyatta issued the subsidy during his public address during the Jamhuri Day celebrations.

The subsidy saw Kenya Power dropping power bills from Sh 25.9 per unit in December 2021 to Sh 21.8 in the first 15 per cent.

Some users who used to get 33 units when they paid Sh1,000, could now get 45 units.

In some areas, people who used to get 45 units with the same amount could now get 63 units.

But do you know how the money is being utilised?
