Kenyan Premier League side, KCB, have acquired offensive midfielder James Mazembe from rivals Kariobangi Sharks.

Mazembe penned a two-year deal with the bankers on Wednesday. KCB edged a good number of their rivals in the top tier for the fleet-footed left winger, including Gor Mahia and Posta Rangers who had expressed deep interest in acquiring his services.

Mazembe, who joined Sharks straight from high school, was at the heart of Sharks' versatile and talented midfield that wrecked havoc on opposition at whim in the just concluded season.

Mazembe's acquisition comes exactly a day after head coach Zedekiah "Zico" Otieno said he would be going for new signatures ahead of the new season to boost their chances of charging for the title.

"We are definitely going to effect some changes to the squad. No one goes to battle with the same old strategy," said Zico during a function held to fete the team for their splendid performance.
