Tusker pooled in Group B of Kagame Cup

Kenya's representatives Tusker have been pooled in Group B of the forthcoming Cecafa Kagame Cup slated for Tanzania from August 1 to 15.

The Kenyans have been pooled alongside Tanzania’s Azam and South Sudan’s Atlabara. Defending champions KCCA of Uganda will battle it out it out with Burundi’s Le Messanger Ngozi FC, and Zanzibar’s KMKM FC in group A.

Their compatriots Express will flex muscles with Tanzania’s Yanga FC and Malawi’s Nyasa Big Bullets in group C.

The first and second team from each group will proceed to the tournament’s quarterfinals, alongside two best runners up. Football Kenya Federation used to the current Premier League standings to pick Kenya's representatives.

The decision to settle on Tusker sparked bitter protests from rivals Gor Mahia who still maintain they ought to have been handed the slot given they are the defending champions and the current season is not yet over.
