Real Madrid will complete the Sh11.3 billion (£86million) signing of Eden Hazard from Chelsea ‘within a matter of days’.

The deal for the Belgian forward is on the verge of being made official, according to Spanish newspaper Marca, and Hazard will become Real’s third signing ahead of next season.

The deposed European champions have already agreed deals for Eder Militao and Rodrygo Goes as Zinedine Zidane begins his second spell in charge with a squad overhaul.

Zidane first suggested that Real sign Hazard when he was a youngster at French club Lille, with club president Florentino Perez saying he would be brought to the Bernabeu when he reaches an elite level.

Now that wish is about to become a reality with Hazard set to get the move to Real he has craved for some time. Last summer, Chelsea were demanding £170m-plus for Hazard but relations between them and Real have flourished following the loan move of Mateo Kovacic.

That enabled the Spanish club to talk Chelsea down to a fee in the region of £86m as Hazard, 28, has just one year remaining on his contract.

Another factor is that Chelsea have appealed against their transfer ban, asking for it to be postponed until after the summer transfer window, allowing them the chance to find suitable replacements this summer.

They have already agreed the signing of Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund.
