National champions Kenya Ports Authority meet compatriots Equity Bank Hawks in an Africa Women's Basketball League quarterfinal encounter on Sunday in Alexandria, Cairo.

The all-Kenyan derby outside the borders was set after KPA finished second in Group 'A' after crushing 120-77 to Alexandria Sporting Club while Hawks deflated Overdose Up Stadion of Cameroon 76-73 to finish third in Group 'B' .

In Friday evening's clash against ASC, KPA trailed 39-14 in the opening stanza and never recovered as the Egyptians, who are the reigning champions, connected 18 of their 38 three-point attempts compared to the porters' seven out of 30.

Cerrra Dillard scored 20 points, Destiny Pitts grabbed 18, Ager Amer made 17 and Fatou Babou hit 14 for the winners. KPA who, missed the injured Madina Okot, saw Rita Aluoch step up to lead the tally with 12 as Belinda Okoth added 10.

KPA had previously won three games, hitting CNSS 82-46, Universite de Doula 74-59 and Customs 75-53.

Hawks, on the other hand, were saved from an imminent over-time after Judith Pantaleo drained a last gasp three-pointer with 0:02 seconds left to play in their win against Up Station.

In their other matches, they blanked ASPAC 87-69 and went down 80-55 to Interclube and 84-50 to Rwanda Energy Group.

The semifinals and final are set for Monday and Tuesday respectively. There will also be a classification pitting ASPAC of Benin and CNSS of Democratic Republic of Congo. The two teams finished bottom of their groups after losing all their four preliminary matches.

Quarterfinals: Universite de Douala v Rwanda Energy Group, Equity Bank v Kenya Ports Authority, Overdose Up Station v Alexandria Sporting Club, Customs v Interclube.
