Team Kenya to depart on Thursday for Nations League as squad is named

The teams have been undergoing training sessions at the Nyayo National Stadium for two weeks in preparation for the week-long tournament.

Kenya men and women national 3x3 teams will depart on Thursday for the Nations League Northern stop to be held in Algeria from July 28 to August 3.

The teams have been undergoing training at the Nyayo Stadium for the last two weeks in preparation for the week-long tournament.

“We have had a two-week residential training and both teams look good. We have trained well and are looking forward to representing the country well,” offered the men's team coach Tony Ochieng while naming the squad.

Kenya will face stiff competition from North Africans led by host Algeria, Egypt, and Morocco. The other team is Benin. The top teams from the tournament will qualify for the World Cup and World Championships to be held in Poland and Mongolia respectively in September. 

Kenya hosted the 2022 Nations League Southern stop at Nyayo National Stadium gymnasium in Nairobi. The women's team won the event and booked their tickets to the World Championships in Romania. On the other hand, the men finished third.
