The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) National Super League kicks off this weekend with 10 matches on the card.

Relegated Vihiga United start life in the second tier league with a tough encounter against Migori Youth at Mumias Sports Complex on Saturday as Fortune Sacco play Mwatate United at Kianyaga Stadium in Kerugoya.

Zoo Kericho, who were relegated from the Kenya Premier League over match-fixing allegations, will start their campaign back to the top tier league with a tricky tie against Kisumu All Stars at Kericho Green Stadium.

On Sunday, Camp Toyoyo host a double header. The first game will be between newly promoted Naivas FC and Mully Children’s Family as from 1pm while the second game will pit Dandora Love, formerly Mt Kenya United, against Kisumu United FC, formerly Western Stima.

Perennial NSL campaigners Shabana FC face newly promoted Mara Sugar at Awendo Green Stadium. Shabana, under coach Robert Ojienda, will hope to gain promotion to the KPL after several seasons in the NSL.

Club chairman, Nyandoro Kambi ,challenged players to fight for promotion.

“Shabana is a big brand and should be playing in the KPL. I hope we don’t make mistakes that we made last season, which cost us a promotion slot,” said Kambi when he addressed players.

He warned players against indiscipline. “Last season, indiscipline cost us. This time round, we are not going to entertain any cases of indiscipline,” Kambi added.

Kibera Black Stars will be up against Coastal Heroes,  formerly Coast Stima at Hope Centre with Murang’a Seal hosting newbies SS Assad at St Sebastian Park.

At Bomet Stadium, APS Bomet will welcome Gusii FC while Mombasa Elite, formerly Modern Coast entertain Silibwet  at Mbaraki.
