AK to use 2km race in Olkalau to determine potential relays team

The event will be held at the Arboretum next to Olkalau Stadium in Nyandarua county on Saturday

•AK noted that the 2km race is open for all athletes specialising in 800m, 1500, and 3000m.

Athletics Kenya will use the 2km (men and women) races in the fourth cross-country weekend meeting to determine probable athletes for next year's World Athletics Relays in Guangzhou, China. 

The event will be held at the Arboretum next to Olkalau Stadium in  Nyandarua county on Saturday 

Besides the 2 km races, the meet will feature 6km U20 women, 8km U20 men, 10km senior women, 10 km senior men, and the mixed relays.

AK noted that the 2km race is open for all athletes specialising in 800m, 1500, and 3000m. 

They added that the other events (6km U20 men, 8km U20 women, and 10km senior men and women) are open to all athletes.

AK also encouraged the athletes who have already participated in previous cross-country meetings to keep up the spirit. 

Registration will start on Saturday at 6 am at the venue. The technical team will analyse the performances of the four cross-country weekend meetings to determine the most probable athletes for visa application.

The fifth and final Cross Country meet will be held in Iten on December 10.
