Kenya's sprint king Ferdinand Omanyala will finally make his Diamond League debut on Friday at the Wanda Diamond League in Brussels, Belgium.

Omanyala who has been in barnstorming form since his record breaking performance at the Tokyo Olympics, will compete with sprint royalty in the 100m dash among them Olympic silver medalist from the USA Trayvon Bromell and the Tokyo 2020 finalists Akani Simbine and Kerley Fred.

"It's a dream come true for me to be competing against this amazing guys in a Grand Prix. I have had a really amazing two months in the track and I hope to continue in this vein for a long time," enthused the speedster who reduced his national record to 9.86 in a meet in Finland.

"It's about maintaining a high level. Sprinting against the best will only make me quicker but it would be an amazing fete to win on Friday," said the Vihiga native.O

manyala will be the fourth fastest man in the eight man line up with Bromell (9.77) starting as favorite followed by the duo of Simbine and Kerly who are both on 9.84 for the season.
