‎Six grassroots men’s teams will be gunning for glory and a handsome Sh250,000 prize purse when the Tujiamini Cheza Dimba Nairobi Edition roars into life this Saturday at the Dandora Stadium.

‎Backed by SportPesa, the high-energy community tournament is designed to shine a spotlight on raw football talent bubbling under the surface across the capital.

Representatives from Dandora, Kayole, Mathare, Kibera and Dagoretti are set to lock horns in a battle for top honours.

‎The men’s line-up features Dandora All Stars, Victor’s Faith Church FC, Mathare Flames, Mseto FC, Blazing Eagles and Ten Daily FC.

‎The eventual champions will not only pocket Sh250,000 but also walk away kitted and backed with three years of mentorship to help propel their footballing dreams beyond the estate touchlines.

‎The women’s showdown, meanwhile, will be a straight duel between Achievers FC and UEFA Despanol Queens, with Sh50,000 up for grabs in a one-off prize for the victors.

Adding flavour to the festivities will be the Bronze Kwa Ground giveaways, surprise awards dished out to unsung heroes from sport, arts, media and small enterprise.

‎The Tujiamini Cheza Dimba has already toured Central, Western, North Rift, North Eastern, Eastern and Coast regions.

The coast region saw Olympic Queens fall 2-4 on spot-kicks to Arrows of Kajembe in the girls’ final, while Majestic endured the heartbreak of a 0-3 shootout defeat to Gombato after a goalless stalemate in the boys’ decider.

Deborah Maina, SportPesa's Public relations and advertising executive, underscored that vision ahead of kick-off.

‎“Cheza Dimba is more than a tournament; it’s proof that when communities believe in themselves, transformation follows,” she said.

‎“We are proud to provide a platform where young people can showcase their talent, while also addressing important issues like health awareness. Sport and community go hand in hand, and through Tujiamini, we are helping build a stronger, more confident Kenya.”

‎The next stop for the football caravan will be Nyanza next month.
