The lifeline comes at a decisive hour — as the law enforcers steel themselves for a bruising CAF Champions League showdown with Sudan’s Al Hilal Omdurman.
They are also sharpening their armour to defend the Sportpesa League crown they won for the first time last year.
Club patron and Principal Secretary of the Interior Ministry, Raymond Omollo, hailed the support as transformative, describing it as fuel for ambition and a vote of confidence in a team that has defied expectations.
“As Patron of the Kenya Police Football Club, I am honoured to receive this generous package from the senior leadership of Co-operative Bank. This support comes at the perfect time as we balance domestic and continental challenges,” Omollo said.
The investment will allow the club to reinforce its squad, enhance training facilities, and prepare for the rigours of competing on two fronts.
Police FC’s eyes are fixed on history. Their CAF journey continues against Al Hilal Omdurman, one of Sudan’s most formidable sides. A win would make them the first Kenyan team to reach the Champions League group stages — a milestone that would elevate Kenyan football across the continent.
While the CAF campaign captures headlines, Police FC must also defend their domestic crown. The champions missed the opening two league rounds due to continental commitments.
They will face Ulinzi Stars in their first league outing today, a match expected to test their balance and depth.
Last season, the law enforcers dethroned Gor Mahia to claim their maiden league title — a feat that not only stunned the nation but also marked a new era in Kenyan football.
