Brewers face APS Bomet and Kakamega Homeboyz in pre-season matches

FKF Premier League giants Tusker FC head to Kisumu for a week-long pre-season training camp as they step up preparations ahead of the start of the 2025/26 season.

According to a statement from the Brewers, the camp will provide the players and technical bench an ideal environment to focus on fitness, tactical development, and team bonding ahead of the new campaign, which starts on September 20.

"The training camp will also allow us to welcome new signings and promote and integrate youth players into the senior side. The camp is the completion of a thorough pre-season programme that started five weeks ago.

The team will play three friendly matches during its stay in Kisumu City. The Brewers will face newly promoted Administration Police Service (APS) Bomet, local Kisumu side TBM, and Premier League rivals Kakamega Homeboyz.

These matches will help the technical team assess progress and build match sharpness ahead of the league opener against KCB on September 20, according to head coach Charles Okere. 

"Pre-season is a very important period for us as a team. Kisumu provides us with a perfect setting to work on our fitness, strengthen our team spirit, and also test ourselves in competitive, friendly matches," remarked coach Okere. He added: "We are looking forward to a productive week that sets the right tone for the season ahead.”

Club's chief executive officer, Sam Nzau, added that they believe in thorough preparation both on and off the pitch.

"This camp is designed not only to enhance the players’ physical and tactical readiness but also to strengthen unity within the team. We are confident this will give us the right foundation for the challenges of the new season,” he noted.  The club has signed 10 players and elevated Douglas Omanga, David Polepole, and George Odhiambo from their youth team.
