National handball champions St Luke’s Kimilili and Moi Girls Kamusinga continued with their impressive handball campaign at the Federation of East African Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSSA) games in Kakamega on Monday.

St Luke's Kimilili, enjoying the support of their Chief Principal Innocent Siro, thrashed Tanzania’s Kilombero 47-24 at Masinde Murilo University of Science and Technology (MMUST) on Monday to enhance their chances of a semi-final slot.

Kenya’s other representatives, Manyatta Secondary, defeated the guest team, Côte d'Ivoire, 38-30.

In the girls’ category, Moi Kamusinga narrowly defeated Gombe from Uganda 27-25 in a tough match, while Kenya’s other representatives, Kadika Girls, lost 24-20 to Rwanda’s ES Nyamgabe. St Joseph’s, Kitale beat Uganda’s Kawanda 23-13.

In girls’ hockey, debutants Ng’iya maintained their unbeaten run after a narrow 1-0 win over Uganda’s Kakungulu Memorial, at Mukumu Boys High School. Defending East Africa champions St Joseph’s, Kitale, drubbed fellow Kenyans Mwiki 3-0.

Elsewhere, national champions Tigoi Girls went on a rampage to wallop Uganda’s Namagunga 13-0. A Ugandan derby between Mushanga and Bweranyangi ended in a barren draw.

St Joseph’s Girls lead the table standings with 10 points, the same as second-placed Tigoi Girls, but St Joseph’s have a better goal difference.

In the boys’ category, St. Anthony’s Kitale continued with their good run after edging Ntare School from Uganda 2-0, while national and regional champions Musingu High defeated Mbarara High 4-1.  St. Charles Lwanga and M-Pesa Academy drew 1-1.

Kakungulu Memorial thrashed fellow Ugandans Kyadondo 4-1. Kakungulu Memoria lead the table standings with 10 points same as second-placed St. Charles Lwanga and third-placed St Anthony’s Kitale.

In girls’ volleyball, defending regional champions Kesogon Mixed and Kwanthanze High School maintained their unbeaten run. In Monday’s games, Kwanthanze easily dispatched Uganda’s Amus College 3-0 (25-9, 25-14, 25-10) while Kesogon saw off Rwanda’s St Alloys 3-0 (25-21, 25-12, 25-11).

Cheptil High remained on course to reclaim the boys’ title after a hard-fought 3-1 (25-23, 19-25, 25-23, 25-18) win over Uganda’s Namugongo. Kenya’s other representatives, Gogo Mixed defeated St Peter’s Mumias 3-0 (25-17, 26-24, 25-19).

In boys’ football, Butere and Agai Mixed moved to the top of pools A and B after Day Five of the games. Butere Boys lead Pool A with 11 points, followed by Ugandan champions Buddo School with the same number of points, but the former have a better goal difference.

On Monday, Butere saw off Highway Secondary 4-0, while Buddo and Kenya’s Musingu High battled to a barren draw.

In Pool B, debutants Agai Mixed lead the table with 10 points while St Joseph’s, Kitale, trail with nine points. On Monday, Agai Mixed upset 14-time champions St. Mary’s Kitende 2-0 in the first match before edging Benjamin Mkapa 3-0. National champions St Joseph’s Kitale beat Benjamin Mkapa 5-1.

In the girls' category, Butere lead Pool 'B' with 10 points, followed by rivals Arch Bishop Njenga with nine after four games. Defending champions St Noa Girls from Uganda lead Pool A with 10 points, followed by Kawempe Muslim with nine points.
