Kayole Starlets' players celebrate victory in a past match/ HANDOUT

Trinity Starlets’ head coach Musa Juma wants his charges to build on their recent 3-2 away win against Zetech Sparks as they prepare to face hosts Mombasa Olympic in a mid-week FKF Women’s Premier League clash tomorrow.
"We are not exactly where we want to be, but we are heading somewhere with three matches left,” Juma said.
He also admitted their initial top-four ambition may now be out of reach. “Our target was to finish top four, but from the look of things, we may not be able to achieve that. However, we are positive and training hard to win our remaining matches.”
He added that a mid-season exit of ten players disrupted the club’s momentum, forcing him to rebuild a dynamic team on short notice.
“That impacted our style of play since other players joined us, and it took quite a while to blend into our system,” he said.
He recounted a tough spell that saw the team fall to four consecutive defeats. Juma, however, believes their win over Sparks has restored confidence and set the tone for a turnaround.
“We are currently not where we wanted to be, but there have been so many positives to pick from, and we are ready for tomorrow’s match. Against Kibera, Vihiga and Kisped, we failed to convert our chances.
”Their opponents, Mombasa Olympic, were able to honour the fixture, thanks to the support of Citizen TV news anchor Lulu Hassan, who stepped in to fund the team’s travel costs amid financial strain.
Meanwhile, Kayole Starlets have sealed a sensational return to the FKF Women’s Premier League following a dominant 4-0 victory over Sunderland Samba at Calvary Grounds.
Kayole Starlet players hailed head coach Mary Adhiambo’s leadership after guiding them to promotion.
Kayole were unbeaten at home and conceded only five goals throughout the entire campaign, suffering just one loss— the entire season.
Their triumph comes a year after they narrowly missed out on promotion after losing 1-0 to KISPED Queens in the playoffs. Joining them in the top flight are Madira Soccer Assassins, crowned 2024/25 FKF Women’s National Super League Zone B champions after earning a walkover against Vickers Queens.
Bandari Queens kept their playoff hopes alive with a convincing 4-1 win over Uweza Women. In other NSL Zone A results, Makolanders beat Gor Mahia Queens 3-1, Hildana Queens held Mathare United to a goalless draw, and Barcelona SC edged MTG United 1-0.
