Prisons teams advance to KVF league playoff finals

Kenya Prisons beat Kenya Pipeline 3-1 to advance to the finals of the Kenya Volleyball Federation league playoffs at the Kasarani Indoor Arena.

The 25-16, 25-20, 18-25, 25-21 win saw Prisons seal the best-of-three series at 2-1.

Kenya Prisons coach Joseph Baraza expressed his delight over the ‘well-deserved win’.

“I am very happy for the win. We deserved it. I am happy to book a ticket in the finals, which was our target. It boils down to the training we have had. I am grateful to the Commissioner of Prisons for securing us a training facility at Ulinzi,” Baraza stated.

He credited the victory to an effective game plan, focusing on service and blocks and highlighted the contribution of Pamela Masaisai, Laurine Kaei, Immaculate Chemutai and Ann Lowem.

Kenya Pipeline coach Esther Jepkosgei blamed the loss on failure to execute their strategy.

“We will have a review and work on our mistakes ahead of the DCI encounter,” she said.
