The Kenya Volleyball Federation have introduced gate charges for this week’s final leg of the 2023/24 season.

The fixtures, pitting 16 teams (eight in each of the men’s and women’s categories) will be played at the Kasarani Indoor Arena, Nyayo Stadium and Ulinzi Sports Complex.

However, KVF Sports Organising Secretary Ismael Chege said the charges will only apply for fixtures set for Kasarani Indoor Arena on Saturday and Sunday.

Regular seats will cost Sh200, up to Sh500 for the VIP section and Sh1,000 for the VVIP.

“The teams involved are top-notch,” said Chege in his justification for a ticket at the turnstiles. “We anticipate a special kind of audience for the various clubs involved.”

Men’s champions Kenya Prisons will open their fixtures against Kenya Forest Service on Friday at Kasarani.

The women’s titleholders, KCB, begin their competition with a clash against perennial rivals Kenya Prisons at Kasarani on Saturday.

The leg’s opening encounter will be between the Administration Police and Kenya Army at Kasarani at 9 am on Thursday.

Chege said the teams will vie for slots at the season-ending playoffs set for May 24 to June 7. The top eight teams in each category will contest at the playoffs.

Chege has called on volleyball enthusiasts to rally behind their teams, across the three venues.
