Rangers' teams coach Musa Ndomi warned rivals to underrate them at their peril as they eye maximum points in the Kenya Handball Federation (KHF) league matches.

He said the Bungoma-based men's and women’s teams have been in intense training and are sharper despite being out of action since December last year.

“We are ready to bag maximum points in Nairobi. We have trained well and expect to sweep the boards in all games,” said Ndombi.

“The girls are in tip-top form as they are shaping up for the high school games. They have tough games against two top teams but they are ready.”

Rangers men, who are eyeing a top-six finish, are lying in the 11th position having garnered 16 points from eight matches played so far.

They play Young City and Inspired, who are also gearing for the school games on Saturday before tackling National Youth Service (NYS) and Black Mamba, who lost 23-27 against Engineers last week.

Rangers women's side, who are sixth, have a tough outing as they resume their activities after a break with two tough matches on the menu in their two-day tour of the city.

First on the card is a fixture against third-placed Ulinzi Sharks. The soldiers, who have lost one of their 10 games, then take on Amazon.

The following day they come face to face with unbeaten national champions Nairobi Water Queens, who are gunning for title number 12 and lowly Mountain Queens.

In the other matches, the General Service Unit (GSU) still smarting from their shock loss to Strathmore University will hope to make amends against Hunters.

The Technical University of Kenya, who last week suffered 30-23 and 35-22 losses at the hands of Daystar University and Engineers respectively meet Inspired.

Ulinzi Sharks with Euphracia Mukasa and Sarah Wasike to bank on should make light work of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (Jkuat).
