Wafalme progress as Malkia Strikers locked out of women final

Kenyans will now be seeking to win their first ever title on their return to the African scene since they settled for a bronze in Maputo 13 years ago.

National volleyball teams—Wafalme and Malkia Strikers —recorded mixed results in their respective semi-final matches as the African Games fast approached the finish at the Borteyman Sports Complex in Accra on Friday.

Welfalme reached the final after beating defending champions Cameroon in straight sets to roar into the African Games men’s volleyball final in Accra, Ghana.

Wafalme beat the West Central Africans 25-23, 25-23 and 25-17 as the  Cameroonians relinquished the title they won in Rabat in 2019.

Kenyans will now be seeking to win their first-ever title on their return to the African scene since they settled for a bronze in Maputo 13 years ago.

Wafalme Stars have been on a smooth run since the onset having won all their matches from group stages without dropping a set.

They will lock horns with the winner between hosts Ghana and powerhouses Egypt in the final on Saturday.

It was a painful experience for Malkia Strikers who lost Egypt 3-2 (25-23, 25-19, 17-23, 24-26,13-15) in the set I final final match.
