The 2023 Nairobi Basketball Association (NBA) league title could be decided this weekend at the Strathmore University Sports Complex.
Multi-Media University are leading the men’s best-of-five-game series against Don Bosco 1-0 and will wrap it up with two wins on Saturday and Sunday. The women’s series between Dream Girls and Titans is locked at 1-1.
The Rongai-based students won Game One when they beat Don Bosco 74-55. They led 17-14 in the first quarter. MMU, who are the Eastern Conference champions will bank on the dangerous quartet of Greg Mose, Wycliffe Odhiambo, Jeremiah Halwenge, and Timothy Gombe.
Battle-hardened Don Bosco, who finished fourth in the Western Conference will rely on Wisdom Okinyi, Emmanule Kelechi, Dan Mochama, and Methuselah Amtany for points.
MMU had shut out Sunrise 3-0 in a one-sided semi-final clash while Don Bosco also stopped Daystar University Falcons 3-1 in a closely fought semi-finals.
After Titans had taken a 42-35 Game One lead, Dream Girls levelled the series courtesy of a 42-28 win in Game Two thanks to efforts from Winnie Wafula, Marion Kerubo, and Rebecca Sarange.
Elsie Njono, Christine Ago, and Tru Mochache are Titans key players in this game. There will also be a third/fourth classification match involving Daystar University against Sunrise.
