A day after being named Twinkle hockey club interim coach, Emmanuel Wiswa has said he's ready to fill the big shoes left by Charity Miller who stepped down from the role.
Wiswa 22, reckons that his immediate focus is to prepare the Super League side for their clash against Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology JKUAT on June 11.
"I am up to the task of ensuring that the team maintains its standards and achieves the target of an immediate promotion to the Premier League," Wiswa, who plays for Western Jaguars in the men's top-tier said.
At the same time, Jaguar's coach Mike Malungu has tipped Wiswa to succeed with Twinkle. He said the utility player has the attributes to become the best coach in the sport despite his age.
Malungu has overseen Wiswa enrich his game since 2017. The pair have spent five years at Jaguars.
"He just needs to communicate effectively with all the players in order to win their hearts. As a young coach, he needs to pay special attention to each individual player to get the best out of the team," Malungu said.
He added: "He's one passionate athlete I have coached. He loves perfection. The earlier he gets his act together, the better for him."
