Ulinzi Sharks meet Rangers in crucial Super Cup duel

Ulinzi Sharks take on Rangers in a crucial Kenya Handball Federation Super Cup game at Nyayo Stadium on Saturday.

The soldiers' coach, Nickson Oyaro, revealed he has a few injury concerns which hopefully should clear before they step onto the court.

Both teams posted a win and a loss with Sharks beating champions Nairobi Water Queens 33-26 while Rangers hit National Cereals and Produce Board 27-24.

"We are going to play our usual game," said Oyaro.

Sharks stunned champions Water Queens 33-26 and another strong win will push them closer to the title.

If Ulinzi win the tie, they will have to wait for the result of a match between Water Queens and NCPB, which has been pushed to June 1, to know their chances. 

NCPB coach Bryan Mathews said all four teams have won and lost a game each and so the group is still open and that all of them have a chance to win the tournament.

"My players are upbeat and will give their best, hoping that the results from the other fixtures will go our way," said Mathews.

NCPB men will take on General Service Unit (GSU) in a Pool 'A' game. The millers beat Black Mamba 31-24 while the paramilitary side forced a 17-17 tie against Mamba.

"Our opponents are good and we have to be at our best and pray to God we give out a good show. I wish the luckier team the win," said GSU captain Raphael Chege. 

In Pool 'B', Strathmore University have a date with Ulinzi.

Both teams tossed out Kenyatta University 33-17 and 31-17 respectively so a winner here will top the group.
