KCB women's volleyball team middle blocker Elizabeth Lemosiany has said her body is in perfect shape to return to action after injury.

The fast-rising star suffered a right foot injury more than a month ago which subsequently denied her the chance to play for the bankers at the just-concluded Africa Club Women's Volleyball Championships in Tunisia.

Lemosiany, who played for volleyball powerhouse Kwanthanze secondary school prior to joining KCB this season, has been undergoing individual training while the team was in Tunisia.

"The injury came at a time I had set my eyes on earning a slot for the Club championships. It was a pity to miss the prestigious show  but the situation was out of my control," Lemosiany said.

"The fracture was unimaginable at first. I have been training on my own and spent time at the gym. I can say my body is in perfect shape. Physically and mentally I am ready," she added.

The 18-year old has been used sparingly this season to ease her transition into the star-studded first team.

The enterprising player who competes with four other players for the two slots in the department, is tipped for a bright future.

Lemosiany, the only girl from the MAA community to play volleyball, said she was initially worried of being sidelined for a long time.

"I feared that I could be out for a while because I am not injury-prone."

It remains to be seen whether this weekend's Kenya Volleyball Federation league matches will go on as planned.

Kenya Pipeline coach Paul Gitau has said there's need for teams that have participated at the Africa Club Championships to be given enough time to rest.
