United States International University USIU-A Mashujaa coach John Kabuu has tipped forward Danstone Barasa to finally solve the goal-scoring problem the team has previously experienced.

Barasa, the former Wazalendo striker, made a dream debut for the students on May 17 as his brace secured a 2-1 win for the varsity side in the men's hockey Premier League match against Greensharks at the City Park Stadium.

This was the first win for Mashujaa in three matches as the team hopes to build on the important victory according to the tactician.

"Barasa is a quality player that's why we went all out to sign him. He has the pace, experience and composure that will be vital going forward. Striking has been Mashujaa's Achilles' heel but I believe we have fixed it," Kabuu said.

"We also have Robinson Omutekete (Western Jaguars). He is proven in the league and will be an important asset for the team" Kabuu added.

Kabuu presumed that they have a long way to go before this charges hit peak condition.

"We are not were we want to be. The team is working on a new structure and the players are slowly adjusting. We want to be an exciting and attacking team that plays attractive game," he said.

Mashujaa will miss the services of midfielder James Mwangi who is away to Germany for a professional stint.

"We wish him well in his adventures but definitely he is a big loss. I believe we have the replacement within the squad," Kabuu reckons.

His opposite number Nixon Nyangaga said: "We missed a lot of chances and it was a game we should have won. However, I was impressed by the overall performance but we have to take our chances in subsequent matches."
