Former Mukurweini MP Kabando wa Kabando has said President William Ruto and Opposition Chief Raila Odinga should refrain from name-calling.
Speaking on Sunday, Kabando said the two leaders should instead shift focus on inclusive national dialogue.
"Ruto and Raila should embrace issue-laden inclusive national dialogue. Only then shall the duo's 'overt hate' 'covert deals' be replaced by public welfare spirited agenda," he said.
Kabando added that it was about time that the two leaders behave like statesmen.
President Ruto and ODM Leader Raila have been throwing public jabs against each other since post elections in Augustb 2022.
The name-calling got worse after Raila called for national demonstrations this year.
Raila declared that the Azimio coalition will not relent from protestors.
He said the time was ripe for the protests and they will continue every Monday and Thursday.
President Ruto on the other hand has vowed not to allow any attempts whatsoever by Opposition leader Raila Odinga to blackmail the country.
Ugly scenes were witnessed in various parts of the country where Azimio held protests on Monday.
Kisumu played host to most of the chaotic episodes where at some point, protesters overpowered police and chased them away.
The group then stormed United Democratic Alliance offices in Milimani estate and vandalised property, stole items and burnt two cars.
Kisumu Governor issued a statement condemning the violence and laid the blame on what he said were hired goons for infiltrating what were largely peaceful demos.
"These criminals posing as opposition supporters stunned and damaged part of a hotel, a bank, a Supermarket and a shopping Mall within the Central Business District," Nyong'o said.
