Nairobi City Stars have made their second signing by snapping up Migori Youth defensive midfielder and skipper Clifford Ouma.

Ouma, 22, signed a one-year deal with Simmba Wa Nairobi from the second-tier side.

The immediate former skipper will replace Sven Yidah who has since joined South Africa’s top-tier side Marumo Gallants.

“It’s an honour to join this great football club. I have worked so hard to get this chance, and now that I’m here, I want to push myself even further,” said Ouma.

He added: “I choose to join City Stars because currently, it’s the best club in the country. There will be a lot of work to do but I firmly believe under this great management, the technical bench together with my teammates, we can do it.”

Ouma thanked his former club Migori Youth, and their fans for the platform they gave him in the past few years, and for all the support and understanding granted to him.

“I had an unbelievable time there but feel the moment was right to sample another level and environment. Now I’m at the perfect club to do this,” added the youthful midfielder.

Team coordinator Samson Otieno said; “As far back as 2019, we had spotted him but there was no vacancy for him until now. His consistency all through still made him an attraction for City Stars."

Ouma will don jersey no. 18 vacated by Yidah. He is the club’s second signing after Newton Ochieng who signed from third-tier side Vapour Sports. The club is seeking to sign more than 10 players to replace the 14 who left.
