Justice Antony Mrima has issued orders prohibiting the Ministry of Health from conducting the exercise.
Schools, churches and mosques have also been barred from demanding the vaccination of children and persons under 18 years until the case is heard and determined.
In the case filed by activists, they argue that it's illegal for the government to force children to be vaccinated in schools or churches
They argue that school-enrolled children and youth attending churches are in grave danger of being coerced into being injected with substances whose health effects are irreversible.
They said the substances are allegedly passed off as medical vaccines yet parents have not consented to it in writing.
Court documents claim that on June 11, the Health ministry notified Kenyans through the media that Covid-19 jabs will be given in churches, schools and workplaces.
“Schools, churches and workplaces are not designated or gazetted health facilities or hospitals," court papers read.
"For the Ministry of Health to administer Covid-19 vaccines to schools-going children, who are healthy in such medically non-designated learning facilities and worship places."
They further argue that article 18(2) of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights states that no one shall be subject to coercion that would impair their freedom to have or to adopt a religion or belief of his choice.
It is their further argument that many youths routinely attend churches without the company of their parents so there will be no consent from them.
“Indeed, schools are identified and known across Kenya as exclusive learning institutions where parents do not accompany their children and they are not medical centres,” they said.
They said taking the vaccines to school without the consent of parents overrides and sidesteps the mandatory consent legally required of the parents and guardians.
“Such an act by the Ministry of Health is unconscionable, unconstitutional, egregious and constitutes exploitation of these youth,” they said.
